Thank you for visiting my website. My passion has been helping people. Before entering the insurance field I started as a corporate account with the IBM Corporation for several years and was responsible for the creation of IBM’s corporate Balance Sheet and Income Statement as well as being the liaison between the Technical Support team and the accountants. I helped educate and train accountants and analyzed financial data for accuracy in the numbers being reported. This is where I sharpened my teaching, financial analysis, reporting, and communication skills that has helped me later in my life as an insurance agent. I wanted to make a direct positive impact in people’s lives rather than for a big company so I left IBM to start a career in insurance working for myself.

After leaving IBM, I found a niche as an Independent Insurance Agent/Benefits Consultant for AFLAC and Colonial Life & Accident Company (two the the nation’s largest voluntary benefits providers) where I consistently educated employees of small to mid-sized companies and groups the importance of additional voluntary health benefits for coverage for out of pockets costs related to short term disability, hospitalization, accident injury, dental, vision, and critical illnesses and was able to offer plans and other solutions to help cover those type of expenses to provide security and peace of mind.

I was later introduced to Medicare and realized how little most seniors knew about their coverage and options. So I learned as much as I could about Medicare and started educating seniors and helping find ways to free up their money, find improved coverage without having to pay higher premiums or no premiums at all, and to receive additional benefits that they did not have. I have also mastered the process for helping seniors apply for and manage their state assistance for Medicare for those that qualify.

I enjoy taking something complex and confusing and making it easy to understand. I have become the “answers guy” when seniors need accurate answers to their questions about coverage, billing, and benefits or to help just resolve an issue that may occur. I am their advocate to fight for their rights and would like to be yours…and I don’t charge a fee!

What's My Objective?

My primary objective is to ensure you understand all the important facts regarding Medicare and your current coverage. Determining any additional coverage if needed to make sure you are fully protected and maximize your benefits while minimizing risk and out-of-pocket cost. Sam’s goal is to find affordable medicare plans that include it all.

INTENT

My friend and business mentor, Scott Ohlgren, explains that critical thinking is the intellectually disciplined process of actively and skillfully applying, analyzing, and evaluating information, gathered from observation, experience, reflection and reasoning, and then using that as a guide to ones beliefs and actions and responses.

In its best form, it transcends any particular subject, and is based on universal values, such as clarity of thought, accuracy in language, empirical thinking, all used for making sound decisions with a natural empathy for other humans.

I have used this reasoning to help seniors make educated decisions about their Medicare coverage to protect and prepare them for out of pocket costs now was well as in the future with proper plans that can do that efficiently and with less risk. Analyzing plan choices is more than just looking at what’s on paper. It involves understanding the Medicare plans and options and an intimate knowledge of the carrier’s plans, client’s service area, needed providers, required prescription drugs, and their State’s assistance process. That is my passion!
